If you miss it, you don't know what you're missing

Slrnface is a hack.

I was following my fishie, the other day, and I stumbled upon a face in the news article. It was familiar, somewhat, but I couldn't remember. I never recall dreams when I wake up. They say I scream sometimes. And cry when I don't.

I wanted to see the face in the news article again, but I couldn't. Nobody sane sees faces on the text terminal. At least, that's what they told me.

So I wrote slrnface to see faces more often. And to hear voices. In fact, voices made me do it. Voices in my head...

So, what does it do?

Nothing much, really. If you happen to use slrn for your news reading and you happen to run it in a terminal emulator under the X11 Window System Disaster, then slrnface might help you to see faces. And hear voices.

That's it, mostly.

Screenshots: one, two and three.

The source.

And another screenshot, although this one shows an animated blue fishie in the foreground. It was animating while the screenshot was being taken, but screen shooting makes living creatures dead, so it doesn't animate any more. It's just blue and transparent now.

Let me know if you see Destruction in the news.
